A (Petite) Week of Outfits: Caitlin Abber

A (Petite) Week of Outfits: Caitlin Abber

Writer Caitlin Abber lives with her husband, Geoffrey, and their five-year-old daughter, Simone, in Queens, New York. “Style has always been part of my identity,” she says. “When I was little, I’d dress up like a grunge kid or the orphans in Oliver. Now, as a 42-year-old mom, I want to express vitality and an excitement to be alive.” Here, she shares five favorite outfits…

A (Petite) Week of Outfits: Caitlin Abber

Top: Sea NY x Rent the Runway. Jeans: Levi’s. Belt: Madewell, similar. Boots: Madewell, similar. Lipstick: VioletteFR Bisou Balm in Amour Fou.

“When you’re short — I’m 5’1” — it’s hard to find full-length pants that don’t drag on the ground. I wear Levi’s 501s, because they have the right inseam for my height. I also love a cropped pant, although it’s one of those things petite people aren’t ‘supposed’ to wear, because it can make you look shorter. I’m like, I’m short! There’s no hiding it! It’s okay, it’s great! Everything is for you if you want it to be for you.”

A (Petite) Week of Outfits: Caitlin Abber

Sweater: Sézane, similar. Pants: Banana Republic. Shoes: Madewell.

“In our apartment, my clothes closet is in the home office. My husband is a therapist, and he does Zoom sessions in there all day. So, in the morning, I have to grab all the clothes I might want — underwear, coats, shoes, everything. The other day, we had a super busy morning, and I didn’t get a chance to grab an outfit in time. I wound up going to a coffee shop wearing my husband’s jeans and old T-shirt with a picture of Barack Obama playing basketball. That’s life sometimes! I find that with age comes the ability to say, ‘I’m going to put on something that makes me feel hot’ or say, ‘I’m going wear this outfit that makes me look like Adam Sandler.’”

A (Petite) Week of Outfits: Caitlin Abber

Bracelet: Mejuri. Ring: Catbird, similar.

“Ten years ago, my husband and I walked past a tattoo shop and decided to hop in. I randomly picked a bunny for my ribcage. Flash forward a decade, and we now have a daughter who is completely obsessed with bunnies — everything is bunny, bunny, bunny. She always tells me, ‘Mommy, you knew I was coming.’”

A (Petite) Week of Outfits: Caitlin Abber

Jacket: ba&sh (via Rent the Runway). Jeans: Levi’s. Belt: Madewell. Slippers: H&M. Lipstick: Violette FR Bisou Balm in Mon Chéri.

“I wear makeup every day, even if I’m working from home. I turn on music, and the process puts me in a good mood. I love red lipstick — VioletteFR is my go-to. Their lipsticks are so good, often on sale, and never get on your teeth.”

A (Petite) Week of Outfits: Caitlin Abber

“My body has changed a lot over the past few years, but I have so much gratitude for these legs that get me places, for this body that birthed and fed my child. I like showing skin, and being a little fun and provocative, because I’m not dead yet, you know? I look at this photo and think, ‘Hang this at my funeral. This is who I was.’ I also walk around in my underwear, because I want my daughter to see me relaxed and confident in my body.”

A (Petite) Week of Outfits: Caitlin Abber

Shirt: H&M. Skort: Uniqlo. Tie: “My husband’s, and he tied it for me.” Tights: Natori. Sunglasses: COS, similar. Lipstick: Gen See Matte Lipstick in Naomi. Shoes: Nine West, similar. Purse: Zara, similar.

“My hair is naturally brown, but I always felt like I had a blonde woman inside me. Then one day, in my thirties, I decided to just go for it. Full blonde, no subtlety. And suddenly, it was like, ‘Oh. There I am.’ I think a lot of people have a moment like that, where it feels like they’ve become who they’re meant to be.”

A (Petite) Week of Outfits: Caitlin Abber

Trench coat: Vintage. Turtleneck: Uniqlo. Skirt: Jason Wu. Boots: Zara, similar.

“One tricky thing about being petite is that coats are impossible to find. I’ve been wearing the same winter jacket for a decade, since all other coats swallow me. I’d also wanted a trench forever, but even the petite sizes never looked right. Then one day I walked into a vintage store in my neighborhood, pulled this off the rack, and it FIT. The sleeves, the shoulders, it was perfect…and it was $30.”

A (Petite) Week of Outfits: Caitlin Abber

“I like this outfit’s Gloria Steinem vibes — I feel very ‘in charge.’ Funny story: When we were taking photos, just as I was putting it on, I got a call from the school nurse saying that my daughter had thrown up. So, I jumped into my shoes and we took these last pictures while speed-walking to pick up my sick kid. Classic parenthood moment: You’re in the middle of something important, and then all of a sudden, plans change!”

Thank you so much, Caitlin. Readers, please share your own petite style recommendations, if you have them, and let us know who else you’d like us to feature! xoxo

P.S. More women share their weeks of outfits, including a criminal defense attorney with great suits, an author with great 90s style, and a beauty editor who loves flowy things.

OMG how am I so late to this short rave. Yes to Levis #501’s forever. Winter tip for those of us shivering in New England = just replaced my Burton kid snowboard pants from pre- pregnancy ages ago, for a pair of Helly Hanson’s, kid size 14. Tons of colors, a generous waistline that has side velcro to adjust for layers and relaxed bellies. Under $100. (The adult ones are 3-4x that amount). I think the key with snowboard pants is they make them shorter as to not drag under the board / skis. I’m not snowboarding these days, just walking the dog in the February arctic tundra, and attending protests. xox

Raffaella

I’m 5.4 and I find that empire waist dresses elongate my torso and my legs a lot

Julie

Unrelated but Caitlin where is your blue rug from? I love it!

Caitlin

Ruggable!

Amanda

Love to see a fellow shorty wearing a voluminous skirt! Great set of outfits!

Caitlin

Thank you!!

Leigh

Love your style, Caitlin! I am 5’1 too and always believed trenches were just not for us short women, but I’ve been proven wrong today! <3

Caitlin

Just gotta find the right fit (sometimes feels impossible, I know!)

Julie

Old navy online has affordable jeans and pixie pants in petite lengths and they last me a whole school year or more of wearing/washing weekly. Their ankle length regular sizes are actually also short people friendly.

MCW

Who else..? I feel like Toby would be a great candidate if he’d like? Leggings > jeans suggests sensory sensitivity that I think actually a lot of us experience, neurodiverse or not.. And is a change of wardrobe for a new life phase relatable or … ??!! X

messy girl

So cool! So wise! So fun! Rocking these fits and that blonde hair! You make me excited to turn 42! Yay!

Niki

Loooove her style. So good.

Martha

I’m a petite plus, and have found Lane Bryant’s short and petite length pants, especially their jeans very flattering and just the right length. I go for cropped and ankle pants too…find the wide legs flattering and lengthening! One of my go to outfits is a pair of pants ( usually black or jeans) a fun T, and a duster length cardigan! Very flattering, lengthening and versatile…You can dress it up or down! I’ve always been comfortable with my height!

Hil

Caitlin you are the coolest! Every single outfit is amazing. I a 5’2″ and so appreciate all these tips. Also I have brown hair naturally and have been more or less fine with that for the past 39 years… however all of a sudden this last month, have been feeling so incredibly called to go blond. This post felt like validation from the universe I should just do it! Could you share where you get your hair done?

Caitlin

Amanda Power at Power Hair in Bushwick! Tell her I sent you 😘

Heidi

Thank you for this post. I’m 5’0” and have recently had the most luck at the Gap. Petite sizes are not in store but there is a wide selection online.

Amanda H

Absolutely gorgeous! This 5’1” lady feels so seen lol. She makes a CASE for a red lip, too!

Rosalie

I also wear makeup everyday and always a red lip. I love the jeans and open black jacket combo. It looks so chic.

Deb

Thank you for sharing your lovely perspective, Caitlin! I’m inspired by your accepting approach. I’m 5’1″ and I also love Levi’s jeans (28 inseam for me). I’m wondering if you all have recommendations for clothing brands for people who are petite in height but larger busted on top? I find it so hard to find clothes in general because of this mismatch. Would appreciate any of your recommendations!

Meghan

Fellow 5’2 mama fan-girling over Caitlin! She looks incredible and love her sage advice surrounding fashion, beauty and parenting. Tip for other petites: Abercrombie jeans are ELITE! They have 4 inseam lengths – I go for the “extra short” for cropped styles, “short” for floor skimming with flats, and the “regular” length when I want to wear a small heel or boot.

Rachel

Thank you so much!!

Ishbee

Subscribing to the Short Story box (https://my.shortstorybox.com/) was a game changer for me! I did not do it for very long, but I was able to find pieces that I have used and will be able to use for years. A blazer that looks professional and fits well? Check. A midi skirt that ‘s actually midi on me? Check. If you hate the buy-online-return loop, try Short Story.

Monica

Thanks for this recommendation!

josephinegreen

Thank you for this post as a 5’0″ shortie! I love her style!!

SanFrannie

HA! I read the last description right after getting a call in the middle of conducting an interview — it was the school nurse, telling me my kindergartener had just thrown up at recess. So much of Mom Life is universal.

Annie

As another short one I decided to make myself a winter coat. Finally a coat that fits. Not nearly as hard as it seems and so many compliments from strangers. Worth giving it a go.

Fiona

This is so inspiring, Annie! One of my goals for this year is to successfully sew a garment or two for myself

Leslie

Nelle Atelier jeans have been a game changer for me! Woman owned, small business. Not inexpensive but for the perfect pants, I finally felt worth the splurge. I LIVE in mine. A forever pant for me.

Sonja

Ooh thank you for sharing! I am really interested in this as I have had a ridiculous time trying to find good jeans that fit right. I’m 5’2″

Kim

Caitlin’s style speaks to me – clean lines, bold colours, some menswear-inspired pieces – this is generally my own style, too!

Katie

Same!! And I’m 5’1” so I feel like this post was basically made for me. So grateful as I have been strugglinggg to dress myself post-partum. Thanks Caitlin! You are an inspiration 😊

Lauren

I loved this week of outfits! I really appreciated her approach to being relaxed and confident, using clothes to express vitality and an excitement to be alive. I’m 37, and unfortunately, not yet a mother, but I still fight these impulses to dress more like a “grown up”. Last night I tried on a top I purchased (final sale ugh!) and realized it is fuuully a crop top. Debating what to do now but I think I might just say fuck it, be fun and provocative because I’m not dead yet!!

Kelsey Miller

Lauren, I love this!!! I hope you have such a blast in that crop. 🎉

Sofía

Lauren, I relate so much to your comment because I’m also 37, also want to be a mother and am not yet, and I sometimes wish it hadn’t taken me until my 30s to start wearing crop tops. I didn’t start feeling beautiful until I was a little more grown up, so I’m trying to enjoy it now! <3

Gab

I’m 36 and hosted my daughter’s birthday party last weekend in a (IMO classy) crop top lol

VNM

NOW IS THE TIME FOR CROP TOPS! Signed, mom of four— body positivity is great but atp I feel much more comfortable in a shirt that covers my loose tummy skin and stretch marks :)

Lizzy

I’m 5′, so this post is everything! I feel like the Levi’s 501 tip has just changed my life.

awads

Another 5’2″ inch shorty here! i’m currently rocking my son’s hand-me-down jeans (old navy, LL Bean) from when he was in middle school (boys size 12, they even have the inside elastic band belt). I love how they fit me and how they feel on. I don’t know if I’m winning any fashion awards, but i’m cool with that.

laurel

This is a solid tip

mado

I could never fit into boys jeans but I would so love the elastic in the waist band! The kind with buttons? On your period? just let out a couple of buttons! Been working out more or just had mono? Tighten that shit up! Please someone make these for women! Lol

rachel

can we get a hometour for caitlin’s place, too!? love all of this.

Caitlin

Would love to do that some day!

MEG

Every single outfit knocks it out of the park but I especially love the last look. All my 70s campus fashion dreams come true. <3

Caitlin

Thank you ❤️❤️

Kate

She looks cool as heck!! What a stunner. Love these quotes: “Everything is for you if you want it to be for you.” “I like showing skin, and being a little fun and provocative, because I’m not dead yet, you know?” And after seeing it recommended many times here, this is convincing me to get that VioletteFR lipstick finally.

Caitlin

Do itttt

messy girl

I LOVE VioletteFR lipstick – I have four or five of them. But I don’t think I’ve ever seen them on sale. Maybe a coupon code for your first order? But anyhoo, point is that they’re worth it and the best! Enjoy! And yes – love those quotes you mentioned!! At first I thought I wouldn’t be able to relate to this post bcuz i’m 5’9″ but it was inspiring!

Nicole

OBSESSED. The outfits, the overall attitude – I love this one so much!! I have a similar body type and feel really inspired to embrace it and have fun getting dressed/putting on makeup! As a mom of a two-year-old, I needed this haha

Sarah C

As a 6’2″ woman, I was reading this and nodding along– not because I relate to clothes being too long, but because I can empathize with nothing ever fitting right! This line: “One tricky thing about being petite is that coats are impossible to find” is me, with one word changed: “One tricky thing about being tall is that coats are impossible to find.” We have so much in common, while honoring, embracing, and loving our differences! (That said, it’s easier to hem than it is to add fabric! ;)

Jenny

I love this attitude about being petite. Reminds me of my friend Becky and her book: https://goodreads.com/book/show/17707624-i-d-rather-be-short

Sari

So fun!! Love this one. So many fun lines. But Caitlin, we gotta know the hair routine! What hair color/style do you ask for at the salon and how do you maintain it? It looks amazing.

rachie

Yes please tell us!

Ruth

“Everything is for you if you want it to be.” 100000% YES. I embrace that so much now, as a middle aged woman who has no effs left to give. I too am petite and also don’t follow the rules (since they were mostly made by men, duh). Quince has good options,as does J. Crew. Also, a good tailor is GOLD — they can help you make anything look the way you want it to.

Anna

Yay, I love this! She’s so chic! “I’m like, I’m short! There’s no hiding it!” – same! I’ve spend years not caring about the “rules.” I’m short and curvy. Will a cropped wide leg jean make me look short and wide? YEP, bc I am short and wide. I constantly see “you can only wear that if you’re tall and thin” and ladies, not true! I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve seen comments that women my size shouldn’t wear barrel pants. I LOVE barrel pants.

Caitlin

Wear the barrel pants!

Anna

Love her style and attitude! It’s also refreshing to see one of these posts about someone who doesn’t already have a giant social media following. Feels more real somehow!

Nicole W.

Thank you, thank you for featuring a petite fashionista! I’m 5′, and I totally relate to the woes of trying to find clothes that are flattering and fit right! What a babe! Definitely taking some pointers for myself. First off, putting makeup on even on the days I don’t leave the house. That’s so true, I feel so much better when I do it, but I find I don’t do it that often if I feel like I won’t be out and “seen.” But my daughter will see me, my husband will see me. I’m alive, isn’t that a good enough reason to dress up for the occasion?

Mia

I have solely worn Madewell petite pants for the last year or so, and find that they fit really well, the quality is solid, and it’s easy to pick up basically new ones on poshmark. On a separate note, as a petite size 10, I appreciate when petite-focused things don’t just assume everyone short is a size 2/XS

Anna

Hello from another petite 10! I feel like petite midsize is so overlooked. My silhouette/shape looks like the models in the plus size clothes. I know there are a lot of short curvy women out there, and I’d love to see more representation!

Rachel

Yes! 5’2″ and not a size 0 over here. Appreciate petite midsize references. Madewell is my go-to too

Frankie

Mommy you KNEW I was coming!

Caitlin

🥹🐰🥹

Kayla

My eight-year-old daughter is also obsessed with bunnies. She’s had a bunny lovey since she was a baby, and we always joke that because none of us can remember who gave it to her—or how it even appeared in our house—it must have come with her out of the womb. The bunny is white (now gray), and my daughter insists it was made from one of my ribs. All of that to say, I feel like we’re kindred spirits… and maybe I should also get a bunny tattoo on my ribcage.

Caitlin

I love this!

Tracie

For Uk petite ladies, Hobbs has gorgeous winter coats. I’ve never felt more confident in a shinier coat until I found one that fits my shoulders and sleeve length appropriately.

nadia

Fellow petite – where are people buying short/cropped sweaters or tops that work with high waisted pants? I thrift all of mine but i’d love to find something that works with high waisted things since i’ve transitioned mostly to those

Caitlin

100% vintage/thrift—I found a 100% cashmere cropped mock neck the other day for like $20. Touch all the fabrics in the store!

Nicole

I can’t say I’ve found a great option for cropped sweaters or tops, but I did see a trick that you can tuck the hem of a sweater into your bra, so like pull it up and under and tuck into the lower bra band, and it “crops” the top for you. I’ve been doing this with high-waisted pants/skirts and I think it looks pretty cute!

Gab

I got a couple from Kotn recently! I’m 4’11

Kat

Fellow shortie here! Don’t sleep on the kids department at Zara. While shopping for my own kids, I’ve found that tops and sweaters and even sweatpants in the largest size fit great, and they often have smaller versions of items in the Women’s section. I’ll often cruise the boys section at Gap and Target, too. And if you’ve got petite feet, order kid shoes! Get those Sambas at a discount, friends. For more grown up shopping, I’ve had luck with Uniqlo and Buck Mason.

.S.

My mom is petite and she always buys kids Blundstones – they’re $100 cheaper where we live!

Susana

Also JCrew kids section for boys ‘ sweaters

Sasha in Montana

I’m 5’6″, but slight, and I love the kids section, esp at the Patagonia outlet we visit a few times a year. Pretty much the exact same great gear, much cheaper.

Anna

Yes to this! Athleta girl also has some styles that fit really well with the added benefit of being much cheaper than the women’s equivalent. J crew boys sweaters, Nike kids T-shirts and sweatshirts… once my kids reached my height and I started “borrowing” their clothes I realized they fit me better than a lot of women’s clothes and are less expensive for the same quality.

sophie

She’s gorgeous! And such a healthy way for her daughter to grow up. <3

Caitlin

Awe shucks, thank you!

riye

I’m 5’3” so I almost always have to hem my pants. I buy my pants from thrift stores and sometimes if I’m lucky they’re already hemmed up. I wear cropped pants all the time. Love them!

Laura R

Caitlin — where do you go for your color? The blond is perfect.

Caitlin

Thank you! Amanda Power at Power Hair in Bushwick. She’s the best!

Emily

FINALLY!!! As a 5’0 gal, I’ve been waiting for a petite week of outfits!! Caitlin seems soo cool too :)

Vish

This post is such a gem! I am petite and love a cropped jean and own a thrifted trench. I feel like I just got the gift of a personal stylist. Going to recreate many of these outfits! Thanks Caitlin!

Mara

The comment about bleaching her hair and then thinking “oh, there I am” really landed. I’m meant to have short hair, but every few years I feel compelled to grow it out. When I inevitably cut it off, I always end up looking in my hairdresser’s mirror and thinking “oh hi, it’s you again.”

messy girl

Your comment made me smile <3

Erica

Love her style and vibe 😎

Anon

My petite brand recommendations: Longway California (currently on a production break) Designed by a petite woman, everything fits SO GOOD. LNDR 6/8 crop for workout leggings. Maeve colette crop. I would love to see featured: Kris Galmarini who is the designer (and cafe/retail shop owner) of aforementioned Longway. Brooke Baldwin. Natalie Kuhn. Lacey Phillips.

Shanti Knight

Lacy’s would be soooo fun. But would she do it???? I’d like to offer my services as the photographer for that shoot!

Kathy

Ugh Lacy is so deeply self involved and problematic. No thank you.

Anon

Kathy, I want to hear more about this opinion. I’ve been out of the loop and just recently started reading her substack and find it enjoyable. Tell me about the problematic. I’m truly curious.

Megan

I really loved reading about Caitlin’s week. We don’t have the same style or body but h I attitude of joy and acceptance is so inspiring! There is nothing cooler.

Hana

She is beautiful!!!

Bekah

Okay. Wow. Hi. We love herrr!

Francesca

5′ 0″ shortie here! After a year of looking for straight 90s black jeans, I finally found a pair from the Gap. Love em. They’re cropped, so I ordered the regular size, and they fit like normal length :’) They also have a petite option, which will actually fit like a crop. https://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=7891210022502&locale=en_US&vid=1

Caitlin

Ooh I might have to try these!

Ileana

Also 5 feet tall here – I recently discovered that what they are calling low-rise at Gap these days is actually the perfect mid-rise for us! (The kids have no idea how low we were going with jeans back in the day lol.)

Celeste

Cute! I’m 5’6″ but this is inspiring me to bring my red lipstick into everyday.

Caroline

I love this! As a fellow 5’2″-er who has had a pair of Levi’s 501s in her online cart for WEEKS I must know what inseam Caitlin wears for them to still be cropped. The ones linked have a 30″ inseam! So long.

Sarah

Yes! 5 feet tall and would love to know!

Jenna

I’m 5’1” and I wear the 501 crop Levi’s! Inseam I think is 25-26 inches. I have longer legs and a shorter torso, so YMMV. https://www.amazon.com/Levis-Womens-501-Crop-Jeans/dp/B0C7NL7TP2

Caitlin

Hi Caroline! The specific jeans in the post are the Levi’s 501 90s. I like my hem to pool a little on a sneaker and fit nicely over a boot, so I go with the 30” inseam. Wear shoes when you try them on and see how you feel, and if you don’t like it, try a 28”.

Summer

Hahah I am sub 5 ft and was like THAT inseam works?

Caroline

Thank you, Caitlin!! This is very helpful intel :)

Rae

“Everything is for you if you want it to be for you.” Words to live by!

Anna

So, so chic! That trench is 🤌 I hear you on aligning the outside with the inside; you look great as a blonde 🫶

Caitlin

Thank you!

LKB

I always read these and think about what it’d be like to be featured myself. It’d be like one of those Instagram accounts that mimics sexy supermodels in alluring poses, but as a regular human. My feature would have things like “And this is me taking my kids to school, wearing knock-off leggings from Amazon that don’t bind at my waist! (Not that you could tell, because I make sure my shirt is long!)” and then “This stylish puffer jacket was a hand-me-down from a friend and I wear it all winter long. In my house. Because I’m cold all the time.” Don’t get me wrong–I love reading these posts. I just always feel so unfashionable and frumpy. (And then I tell myself that I really *make* these leggings and long-sleeved workout shirts.)

Sara

You are crushing it in those leggings! I promise

Elly

The amazing thing about feeling super frumpy is that anything can be a huge improvement, but the super fashionable have to work really hard to get even a tiny improvement. I recently started wearing earrings everyday and one day my daughter looked at me and asked why I was so fancy (in a T shirt, jeans, and a claw clip).

Anna

This just made me think… it would be cool to see a series on outfits or fashion around the world! Like week of outfits, but featuring women in different parts of the country/world and what they wear, bc fashion is so regional. (I know that sometimes these week of outfits posts are women in diff places, but they are largely NYC focused).

messy girl

LKB I know what you mean – hahah i love fashion but I end up wearing sweatpants every single day in the winter while working from home. Posts like these make me wanna dress up though! Also, lol this is so true: The amazing thing about feeling super frumpy is that anything can be a huge improvement … the power of adding earrings or a lipstick!

Hillary R

When I was younger, I shopped the Junior rather than petite depts to avoid the ridiculously odd sizing for small frame but C cup women. Vintage shops and a stellar seamstress is where I land now. Teen sized sneakers and boys socks. Oversized layering pcs, sometimes the men’s section. Once I stopped shopping in a petite dept only focus I found far more options. And inseam challenges is no lie!! Love the looks and the joy dressing for vitality- big yes!!

Gillian

As a sometimes petite, sometimes not 5’3″ woman I really appreciate this. I too have found brands that work for me (Reformation, Banana Republic, AYR) and have made friends with my tailor. When you find the things like those Levis that work for you it feels like magic.

Zoey

You know the movie 13 Going On 30? Well I feel like the little girl dreaming of growing up, except instead of being 13 I’m 25 and instead of 30, Caitlin is making 42 look like the DREAM! What an incredibly stunning person, in every possible way

Caitlin

Wow, thank you! ❤️

Greta

Ah, yes, the record-scratch, instantaneous life pivot we all do when a child throws up. Here’s to more mom moments (and pivots) in such hot boots!

Caitlin

Hats off to Yumi—an incredible photographer and she just rolled with it 😂

Michelle

Sisters, I am A TALL and this profile resonated SO MUCH! When I tell you the AGES it took me to understand exactly this sentiment: “I’m like, I’m short! There’s no hiding it! It’s okay, it’s great! Everything is for you if you want it to be for you” NAILED IT! Thank you! I’ll put those words into actions with my TALL daughters!

Caitlin

❤️❤️❤️

Alexa

You are so cool. Just, wow. I bow down.

Kc anon

I really really hope we petites get some good clothing brand recs in this thread. I need this escape for a bit.

Sheila S

The blog/insta Extra Pettite!

Emily

Anthropologie has petites and they tend to fit me well! I just got some cords from Loft petite and they’re perfect. Everlane pants also work well for me. As others have said, I wear cropped pants as a regular inseam a ton as well! Happy shopping!

Summer

Ironically, Abercrombie has a TON of petite clothing. The gap does, too.

Anna

Abercrombie, Gap, Old Navy, and Loft all have great petites. I know it’s all fast fashion, but I honestly find pieces from these places last a long time and I hold on to them for a long time. I also LOVE the short inseam Quince jeans! A lot of their clothes are not great for petites (for example the coats – the sleeves were like 5 inches too long on me and not roll-up-able), but the jeans i’ve tried are great.

Kat

I absolutely love this! I’m also very short and I wear cropped pants too. I’m not trying to hide that I’m short at all. Ha! So much inspiration here. I’m wondering if anyone has ideas for tights/nylons that go all the way up your thighs(so you can wear that Uniqlo skort above) but that don’t have a gusset/crotch? Or just stockings that go up that far that you can use with a short garter belt? I basically cannot deal with anything other than cotton, but all my thigh high tights don’t ever go up far enough for shorter skirts. Thanks!

Caitlin Abber

Yes! HM has these that I love—I’m wearing them with the skort: https://go.shopmy.us/p-40421163

Sarah

Caitlin is so cute! I have a crush!

Caitlin Abber

😉😉😉

Sara

love your style, Caitlin!

Caitlin

Thank you!

ramona

you are rockin’ every fit ;)

Caitlin
