Our Edit: Old Navy’s Summer Sale

Old Navy Summer Sale

Old Navy Summer Sale

Old Navy always has great mix-and-match pieces. For years, I’ve worn one of their floral dresses, and it gets so many compliments. Old Navy is currently having a huge summer sale, offering 50% off everything. In partnership with them, we’re sharing our favorite picks…

Old Navy Big Online Sale

The perfect travel dress. When you arrive after a long drive or flight, you could just splash water on your face and slip on this dress. I remember doing this years ago, and my very elegant, very hard-to-impress aunt said, “Jo, you’re suddenly looking quite chic.” Nailed it. ;)

This 100% cotton crewneck comes in 10 great colors. I’d love to rotate through a fresh stack all summer.

How great is the fit of these lightweight chinos? They’re made of soft-washed twill with a high waist and straight leg, so they feel cool and worn-in right from the start.

Old Navy Big Online Sale

A crinkle gauze shirt is another great travel staple — don’t worry about tossing it in your suitcase because the fabric is supposed to be a little wrinkled!

What a romantic gingham dress.

Stripes go with everything, and you can wear them year-round, of course. This one comes in four colorways and has just the right amount of slouch.

I’d love to bop around in these linen shorts all summer. They just pull-on (so comfy!) and would look great with sandals, flats or sneakers.

How chic is this square neckline? This dress feels timeless, like something Marianne would wear in Normal People. Bonus: It comes in six colors/prints.

A random hill I will die on: block heels make the perfect wedding guest shoes. They’re always in style, feel comfy for dancing, and won’t sink into grassy lawns.

Finally, a punchy red bag to hold all the essentials, and its crossbody strap lets you stay hands free for bike rides and ice-cream runs.

Which styles are your favorites? Old Navy is offering 50% off all online purchases, through this Wednesday. Exclusions apply. These pants would be perfect for long drives, and I have these cuties in my shopping cart. Find all sale items here, if you’d like.

Oh my goodness I love Old Navy so much. Has been my go to for decades. They have tall sizes! That is so rare. And maternity! And everything is always a bargain! Great for kids clothes as well. Everything is simple and economical and they have all the basics.

jenny

Love, love, love Old Navy! The quality is great and I get nothing but compliments on my ON clothing and it is so much more affordable than some other brands with comparable styles.

Anon

As wild as it sounds, I have bought almost bo clothing since before the pandemic. I have been thinking I need to go shopping. This post really gave me inspiration. I think I will try ON! Thank you.

Amber J

Apparently some people find Old Navy controversial, so, I’m coming here to say that I don’t expect you to adhere to all of my specific values, and I have found it to be completely reasonable to continue reading your blog when it seems that we share values and when it seems that we don’t.

Amber J

The wide-legged cotton gauze pants they have right now are AMAZING!!

Sarah

Old Navy has been a fav postpartum when I haven’t wanted to spend a lot on my changing body, and now that I’m 1.5 years in to it I’m still a big fan. Their OG Straight pants are my new fav jeans and cost a fraction of the made wells I used to buy (and I like them just as much if not more), and I get all my twin boys clothes there 50% and they are great. I did buy those linen shorts and LOVED them but had to wash them (twin boys, say no more) and unfortunately they did not hold up well in the wash – they shrunk a lot. Hoping they will let me exchange them for a new pair that I won’t put in the dryer because I really liked the way they fit pre-wash! OH, and I just bought their bike shorts and active crop t-shirt/tank for some new workout clothes (first new ones in years) and I feel like a cute Gen-Z girl when I wear them to the park, even though I am 41 ;)

Nari

Yessss! The OG jeans are amazing. They’re comparable to my $120 Levi’s and all I buy now!

Ashley

I’ve become a huge fan of ON jeans! I’m about 5’9” and their talls are the perfect length for me.

Kate

Yes! They’re super size inclusive! My best friend is around a 16 and I’m tall and they have stuff that fits us both!

Susan

I thrifted two ON dresses last summer to wear in Florence in September. One was linen and the other cotton. They were so comfortable and I received compliments on the looks. Some Old Navy clothes have missed the mark on quality but overall the pieces that I have kept are work horses that get years of wear.

Kimberly

As a perimenopausal high school teacher who has gained 20 pounds in the last two years, I am grateful for Old Navy’s pocketed and collared shirt-style dresses, which have become my daily work uniform: I own 8 in three different styles that have come in a variety of colors. Tidbit: buy the “tall” size rather than regular to get the modest/professional length. I’m 5’2” and the tall option hits at or below my knee. I weigh 130 pounds and like the loose fit, so I order them in large or extra-large. They perfectly hide the pooch, making me look put together without having to fuss with separates early in the morning. Did I mention they have pockets?

Kimberly

Derp. 130 was last year’s weight. lol. I’m 140 this year.

Ashley

I’ve had good luck with their maternity pieces with the exception of their Low-Rise Bikini Maternity underwear which are in tatters after a handful of washes.

Kari

I just bought a couple things from Old Navy and am quite pleased. My best purchase was the linen mini shift dress in the blue gingham. So stinkin’ cute. Bonus – they use a linen blend (not pure linen due to the price point) and it’s excellent. That trendy breezy linen look with none of the wrinkles.

Gina

I’ve been reading Cup of Jo for over a decade and truly love so much about it. That’s why I sometimes (erm, often) find its inconsistency on social issues frustrating. It often highlights causes that are already widely embraced—especially by progressive readers—but tends to shy away from parallel topics that require deeper reflection or real sacrifice. Take fast fashion, for example. I’d love to see Cup of Jo address the serious social and environmental impacts of fast fashion—and then choose not to promote those products, like in this post. The same goes for factory farming, with its serious social, environmental, and ethical concerns. And many other important issues that deserve more attention and are already aligned with the ethics that Cup of Jo says it holds.

Emily

I hear you – but I’ve seen a lot of comments over the years being critical of clothing that is out of the price range for a lot of people and asking for things that are more affordable which, yes, includes fast fashion. Maybe there could be a piece that focuses more on thrifting, upcycling, mending? There have been several outfit features recently with people who did do a lot of that.

Sasha in MT

Depending on we are defining things, ON isn’t necessarily fast fashion. I wear their clothes for decades, as do countless others from the comments here. Their clothing is no less durable than brands specifically marketed as sustainable. As for factory practices, it’s very difficult for me to trust manufacturers catering to an upscale bourgeois market. Many have been caught lying. Like organic food, it’s marketing and illusion to a large degree, and often used for status and elitism, just as harmful as bad factories IMHO because it divides us so billionaires can conveniently keep hoarding their wealth while we bicker over meaningless individual actions. Also, for most of us, this is all hypothetical anyways. I can’t spend $300 on one item of clothing when I make a preschool teacher’s wages, with no benefits and have massive medical bills. Spending on *sustainability * is a MASSIVE privilege. None of us should feel shamed for 1. Not being able to and 2. Not buying into it anyways. We need system change and to stop accepting that we will somehow do this thru individual action. It only continues to serve capitalism.

Lynn

I agree w Sasha. I can’t afford the uber-pricey sustainable brands, they seem to be only for the budget of influencers. Love Old Navy, I have pieces from them I have worn and loved for YEARS. Not all cheap fashion is fast-fashion, especially to the middle class. We can’t afford to replace our entire wardrobes every season!

R. Marie

Gina, have you watched The Good Place?? I feel like that is the place many of us are in currently. There are SO many things in this world that are important and need our attention but it is impossible to be perfect in every aspect of life. I have joined a local CSA for over a decade now, I plant plants that attract butterflies, I try and make most of our meals from scratch to not use a lot of plastic, I try and not buy many clothes at all for myself and my husband buys most of his clothes from a beloved thrift store. But I also have 2 boys that are growing at unbelievable rates and I take them to Old Navy and Target and *gasp* even order from Amazon when I see a great deal on a pair of pants that will literally fit for 3 months. Cup of Jo is a great place to come and read interesting stories and frivolous finds and the occasional think piece about politics or the state of the world. I’m sure she picks and chooses which advertisers she works with and wants them to align to her values, but at the end of the day, this website is a business and she is here to make money for her and her staff. She can’t represent all of your ideals nor should she be expected to. Believe it or not, Thrift Stores United isn’t out there offering Jo advertising dollars to focus on thrifting. But with money that she makes from Old Navy, she can focus on a super cool woman that showcases her thrifted finds and she incorporates that into her daily wardrobe.

Gina

Responding to the follow-up comments! : ) I think it’s worth noting that the issue isn’t just sustainability—it’s also about the treatment of garment workers. If you haven’t seen it and enjoy documentaries, I highly recommend The True Cost (free on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwp0Bx0awoE). And I hear what you’re saying—we do need affordable options. I’ve been at this for a long time and I’m happy to say that there are plenty. I don’t make more money than the average person, but I make it work. Sometimes I save up and pay more for something I love; sometimes I thrift. I’ve developed better habits, like not feeling the need for new outfits every season, and so on. I also agree that the government and corporations should enforce higher standards, but I don’t think that excuses us from participating in a broken system when we know better. We wouldn’t say, “Hey, it’s fine to have slaves until the law changes,” or “I know it’s wrong, but I can’t afford to pay workers.” And this really isn’t any different. Same goes for factory farming and other social issues—we tend to find plenty of alternatives when we start taking our values seriously. PS: Yes! I have seen The Good Place. I agree that it’s impossible to be perfect in today’s world—but it is possible to try and choose the best options available to us. I find that sentiments like “it’s convenient,” “it’s affordable,” or “it’s just business” are often ways we make ourselves feel better about participating in systems we know are wrong but benefit from… even when there are clearly other options available.

Sandra

Here to add to the applause – Old Navy’s become a staple for me in recent years with maternity clothing and now workwear (!!) as well as toddler clothes. While their jeans don’t work for me, all their linen and chinos do, and I wear them for the majority of the year anyway.

Silly Lily

I’ve purchased a few ON items for myself over the years but my greatest pleasure has been buying for my granddaughters when they were in the 2-6 year old range. The little cotton knit pullover dresses, as well as the mix and match leggings and tops (both short and long sleeved) could make an entire seasonal wardrobe. I once found myself next to another Grandma at a sale; we both had an armload of items, and I said to her: how much fun is THIS. We both laughed and compared items. My favorite purchase that day: a long sleeved tee shirt that said: “Dear Grandma, I love you, I love you, I love you………” Nothing wrong with a little self promotion! But honestly, for that size range, ON can’t be beat. BTW, for all I know, the larger girls sizes might be just as terrific, but now that my girls have developed their own personal styles, I just don’t buy them much in the way of clothing. But those old days sure were fun.

Mary

I love this!! I also miss dressing my little boys in their jammies – recently they’ve had the best gender-neutral patterns, esp featuring food/fruits. Lemons, Cherries, all the veggies… so cute.

Steph

I have chino Old Navy shorts from HIGH SCHOOL that I still wear every summer. And I’m 40. Other than needing to sew the button back on one time, they are still in great shape. I find the quality of their clothes to be very hit-or-miss now, but when they hit, they really hit. Realizing my current favorite jeans are from ON, too. (Shoutout high waisted OG straight ankle in light wash)

Anon

Random, but I wash my ON clothing on delicate in cold water and then hang to dry (along with all other clothing.) It lasts just as long as more expensive brands this way.

Anon

This is how I launder just about everything! Co sign

Michele

I SO SO miss Old Navy! When I lived in the US somehow their clothes always fit perfectly (especially their jeans).. now that I have been living in Germany, I have as of yet not found anything close to it. Wish we could get one here too! Thanks for reminding me that Old Navy is still going strong.

Dianne

I love the vintage tees. The material is heavier and the sided hem is split. These last forever!

Julie

for any pregnant ladies, the sale includes maternity. I just started my second trimester and bought about $100 worth of clothing to get me through the summer/early fall.

Sarah

Oh I lived in Old Navy maternity last year when I was pregnant! I got a three-pack of tank tops, a t shirt, and a few dresses, and that lasted me my whole summer pregnancy. I really think their maternity clothes are as good as some of the pricier maternity brands I tried, and it’s definitely a better value. I still wear the maternity tanks as layering pieces and am wearing one right now, haha.

C.D.

I bought that orangey-red striped cotton shirt about a month ago and can attest to its cuteness, softness and durability. I got a medium but probably could have gotten a small — it runs a little large and boxy, but still looks (and feels) great with denim and summery midi skirts.

Ann

This is great but would love to see them modeled on real people and for the team to actually touch the clothes and try them on as the quality of fabric and construction can really vary with Old Navy. Love you highlighting a lower cost brand, though! I’ve been impressed with them in more recent years, too.

Sarz

Given the option, I’d always rather shop in a brick-and-mortar location. Seeing my options in person can’t be beat. That being said? As an extra-petite person, I’m just impressed when a brand fits me properly at all! Old Navy and its sister brands are the *only* places I go when I can’t find something at the thrift store. It’s truly humanizing when things fit without costly alterations. I definitely understand that the garment industry is problematic for workers and the environment, but we can all contribute in the ways that we’re able to. I’d try a couple tees and tanks, take proper care of them, and not over-consume.

anon

Agree on the petite sizing. Old Navy and it’s family of brands, along with J. Crew and Boden all win out when it comes to petites—I am so severely limited, especially with dresses and pants, and really appreciate the broad scope of petite items available.

Tee

Thanks for the reminder to thrift Sarz! ☺️ I agree with everything you said. AND there is often many many Old Navy pieces at the thrift stores.

mado

Love this comment. I have a lovely flower printed ON slip dress that I got like new at a thrift store several years ago and it makes me so happy every time I wear it. Their jeans have been hit or miss though – I got a pair in store that fit perfectly and were a nice heavy material, then ordered a second pair of what I thought was basically the same style in a different color and the quality was horrible, the waist didn’t fit at all and they began to stretch out after only a few months.

Lauren

I love ON – I do almost all of my shopping and shopping for my three kiddos from ON. I am a working mom in her early 40s, and find that their blazers, dresses, linen, and t-shirts/tanks hold up so well and get tons of compliments – plus I’m short, so being able to buy petite or short sizes is huge. I love being able to rotate through a few trendier pieces but also buy good basics that hold up – my kids exclusively wear ON uniforms to school. They also have tons of sales! Give me an ON 50% off everything! The only thing I haven’t consistently been able to find in a great fit is their jeans, but otherwise I wear ON almost every day. I have the linen dress in black and it is PERFECTION – I’ve worn it to work events and also to dinner after a long day at the beach or pool. Their running shorts are amazing. I have t shirts and tank tops I’ve lived in for multiple summers that are still holding up. If you haven’t shopped there lately, go immediately. Thanks for featuring this size-inclusive, affordable brand!

Savannah

I wish Old Navy would bring back their crew neck sweatshirts. I have one from 2009 that is so worn through that there are holes on the sleeves but it’s my favorite sweater, I love the cut and the fit, it’s the perfect weight, and it’s been with me for 16!!! years.

anon

Same, but I think that mine is from a few years before 2009 even! I’m wearing it right now, and every time I wear it, I say a little prayer in my head to the clothing gods that it will stay intact for years to come. I absolutely love this grey crew neck sweatshirt.

CG2

You might be able to find one on ebay or poshmark–I have replaced several of my favorite items of worn-out vintage clothing that way!

Claire

I appreciate the online shopping option. (I avoid Old Navy stores like the plague because the in-store experience is so awful.)

Katherine

I’m parroting what many are already saying, but THANK YOU COJ for featuring a less expensive (but still great!) brand. Size inclusivity means something. So does being able to afford the items that blogs/content creators feature. As a gal in my late 20s, it’s hard seeing influencers spend so much on clothes–makes me feel totally behind financially. I believe if you buy mindfully, you can still make fast fashion last and keep it out of the landfill as much as possible ◡̈

Sasha in MT

Re sustainability. I have ON clothing, bought from thrift, that is decades old. It’s shocking to me when Pele dismiss the brand as fast fashion. I think the fast is in how we use and consume it. And I routinely hear about expensive “sustainable ” “investment” clothing that falls apart in the wash. I really think it’s similar to green washing, it’s just capitalism trying to get us to spend more. Buy used, as much as possible, don’t follow trends, but less, wear it out. And certainly don’t put much stock in influencer trends.

Rachel

I am wearing one of 2 ON cardigans that I’ve had for I think TEN YEARS, and I wear them each at least twice a week to work. A little faded but still perfectly wearable.

Esss

Old navy basics are my go to. Their more trendy pieces rarely work for me but give me the exercise joggers, linen pants and shorts, chinos, and classic summer dresses any day. People ask me where these items are from so often and are always shocked when I say ON. I have pieces that have held up for ages.

Kim from Philadelphia

I had a bad experience with tee shirts purchased last year. Shapeless and stretched out. All cotton shouldn’t wear like that. I thought the quality was sub par. No more fast fashion for me.

Stacey

Nice sale! I got a longer linen dress recently from old navy with a great neckline. I’ve gotten several compliments on it. Like others, I appreciate that they sell most / all of the styles I want in my larger postpartum size.

Kim B

Truly, ON has upped their game considerably. I used to work on their commercials, for years (although it was ages ago). I now shop their again for me and my tween, and they have SERIOUSLY improved their quality, cut, obviously their sizing ranges, and just in general, it’s looking really good, for your seasonals and basics. And, it does actually last (my pieces are now 12 / 13 years old, still in rotation). ALSO – ladies, if you are looking for well done cotton panties, high ish rise, nice firm elastic waistband, OMG, get them from ON. They can be very hard to find now, I’m trying not to buy from the giant river in Brazil, and I ordered 5 pair. LOVE. Right now I have 15 additional pair in my cart. Get some! (but not til after I hit the send button on mine!)

mado

“I’m trying not to buy from the giant river in Brazil” you made me lol

Abesha1

Isn’t it ironic… they’re named after a place theyre helping destroy.

Summer

I literally have a pair of old navy yoga pants that I bought in 2007. I still wear them. Just recently developed a hole but I truly cannot believe these pants are still kicking! On a side note, I feel like I am suddenly seeing crinkle gauze everywhere. Is it a trend this year or something???

Aimee

I literally just last evening threw away a pair of drawstring ON yoga/lounge pants that I bought in I think 2001-2002. They’ve become so decrepit that I couldn’t even justify them for painting and yard work any longer. Farewell old friend.

Amanda

Wore that gingham dress nine months pregnant and I’m excited to wear it all summer now that I’ve had the baby :)

Sab O

I love this, congratulations. Enjoy your baby <3

Nicole

Their running shorts are the absolute best! Perfect length, comfy, look nice, and they are usually on sale for $10. I have like 8 pairs- some from probably 10 years ago and still in great condition. Highly recommend!

Cate

Interesting! Do you have a more specific link, I am in the market for some great running shorts!!!

AMK

I also LOVE that they have models in different sizes wearing the clothes. It makes it MUCH easy to see how to style the clothes and if it’s worth it. I have quite a few ON dresses and corduroy jumpsuit that I will be able to pass on to my kids. They offer timeless cuts in great quality fabric.

june

echoing so many others who are staying that ON is actually really decent quality for the price. I purchased a denim jacket there last year that I get stopped on the street about all the time. People drop their jaws to hear that it’s from ON. I also LOVE their tshirts which hold up better than other more expensive competitors. I have a pair of Kamm-esque pants from ON from years ago and they are so comfy and still look great after endless wears and washes.

Sasha in MT

I think ON is a great value and holds up incredibly well, irregardless of the price. I have pieces, from thrift, that are decades old and still look new. They are my very favorite yoga type pants, and hold up better than all the other expensive brands except Patagonia

Estee

Lifelong ON fan and so happy to see this post. Have worn their clothes consistently since high school. Through my 20s and 30s, two pregnancies, postpartum and beyond they are great.

Emm

I’m a lifelong Old Navy fan. I so appreciate their size inclusivity, I’m short and so much of their stuff comes in petite. There’s definitely some hits and misses with quality but I have found some great stuff over the years at great prices. I have some cotton old navy pajamas pants that are over a decade old that I still wear all the time!

Jess

SAME! I’m petite so my size hasn’t changed too much since 8th grade and here I am with old navy slacks from my Catholic school days like 30 years ago!

anon

I’ve been trying harder to not buy from fast fashion retailers, for so many awful reasons. But I have to say that the pieces I’ve purchased from ON over the years, both for myself and my children, have held up so well that we pass them on to friends who also get years of wear out of them. Some of the things I have I’ve worn consistently for 7-8 years, then my friend who hates to shop also gets several more years out of them!

emm

Yes, agree! People who don’t buy ON because of their perceived poor quality, maybe try revisiting it now? I started buying ON again a few years ago & was stunned by the quality of their clothes. Some things are better than others (I hate their slub tees & still have trouble with the fit of their jeans, although they are a nice thickness!), but overall I’ve been really impressed by the things I’ve bought there & realized recently that I (a 40 year old woman!) have transitioned most of my shopping to ON. Bonus points for actual petite sizing in almost everything, lots of natural fabrics, & (of course) great prices. I’ve been collecting flannel shirts like it’s my job the past few years & can honestly say that the two I bought from there are thicker, warmer, & better quality than shirts I bought from other “higher end” retailers. Their athletic leggings are also really good!

Anne

I had an Old Navy dress that – no exaggeration – I wore at least 500 times before it got a little hole in the shoulder. And I still wear it around the house!

Rachel Betts

My absolute fav item in my closet is a grey puffy vest I got from ON about ten years ago for like $20. It still looks brand new. I call it my Emotional Support Vest. It is perfection.

ABN

i agree all around. i’ve tried to steer away from fast fashion for myself but still rely on Old Navy for my two kids who grow so quickly. their stuff has consistently lasted so long!

Peach

Oh, good to know. I’m one of those shoppers who avoids fast fashion and haven’t been in an ON in years after having disappointing results with the last few items I bought… maybe 10 years ago, lol. Another place I “rediscovered”: JC Penny. I have some St Johns Bay 100% cotton tanks that have been core wardrobe items for 5 years and still look new. It’s an easy place to take my teenagers where everyone can find clothes they want in one store – even jeans that work for everyone’s styles/body, hold up well, and didn’t total our mortgage payment.

mado

Personally I’ve found their quality to be hit or miss – I bought a pair of jeans in store about 4 years ago in a nice thick denim that’s held up really well, but then ordered what I thought was the same style in a different color a few months later and the quality was completely different, that second pair started getting stretched out bits (like wavy bits in the fabric) after only a few months. I’m glad to know that some items hold up well but I’ll definitely only be shopping in store.

sue

omg so funny to see this today, I just made my first ON purchase in years just last night! they have this new (to me at least) “occasion shop” and I snagged this darling polka dot dress for a wedding. i have SO many events this summer and was excited to order something affordable! can’t speak to the quality yet but it’s 100% cotton so i have high hopes! https://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=767456022&vid=3&tid=onpl000089&kwid=1&ap=7&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=20326314430&gbraid=0AAAAAD_AT8vC4Yc4kFWfIcHgx-9GcFrUP&gclid=CjwKCAjwravBBhBjEiwAIr30VN8pYbXo5tAZF45KKNuh7H1nSRA-MUK-SXifzFw4-uzU5F0auXIpvhoCYagQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds#pdp-page-content

Emily

omg it’s just like the dress in Pretty Woman! Have fun in your spots n’ dots!

Liz

I do most of my shopping at Old Navy. I work from home, so saving money on comfortable and casual clothes lets me justify buying new things. I love their bestee tees, I order tall and go a size up for a perfect fit. They are really soft and hold up well. The linen straight ankle pants are a perfect cut this year. I picked up a few pairs for $13 last week! My favorite is the pj jumpsuit in black. Comfy and a little sexy.

anon

Thank you! I’m an Old Navy shopper – I can’t swing $50+ t-shirts at this time. I realize they fall under fast fashion, but I appreciate that they offer **and feature images of!** larger sizes. Seeing a woman in size 12-14 is a game-changer for me. I don’t care if you offer a size XXL – if all your models are thin rails that does me no service on how it may look on me. – I’m a size large and love their basic everywear t-shirt – the short sleeves are just a smidge longer and that makes all the difference. – their v-neck offers a darling dusty blue shade! I wore it with faded denim and felt French. – as someone who battles bikini lines, I think I have a winner in their swim dress. Love the printed green. – I’ve gotten versions of their linen pants for years. I miss the drawstring since I’m between sizes, but the weight is perfect for staying cool and keeping mosquitos off legs.

Anne

Yes, similarly, they also have short/petite sizes in most items, which is rare and much appreciated!

Midge

And tall!

Kimberly

Yeah, I know there’s a lot of conversation about not buying “fast fashion” but most of my clothes are from Old Navy, Target, etc. that I bought 10-15 years ago and am still wearing, ha ha. Don’t get me wrong, I do think it’s important to buy from environmentally friendly ethical companies that pay workers a living wage if you can. I just think in general you can wear clothes for a long time if you choose to and I don’t necessarily wear the clothes I spent more on for longer than inexpensive clothes I buy.

KS

Literally bought a haul yesterday! Haven’t bought from Old Navy since I was in elementary school (!) but they’ve really glowed up.

Caro

Wow- there is some really cute stuff here! I have a gift card to the Athleta family at the moment but I’m pretty sure it will work for Old Navy… hmmmmmm

Leilani

They do! I have a gift card right now too and you can load up the cart with any of their brands. Old Navy’s been my favourite for basics, especially with a toddler – really solid quality and fabrics now, way better than I remember growing up (anyone else remember the walls of kitschy graphic tees?)

Laura

Thank you for posting an affordable, size-inclusive brand! I know ON is technically fast fashion and not sustainable, but it’s one of the only places I can afford to shop that has great plus size options.

Amanda

While they are technically fast fashion, I find that their products generally hold up. So as long as we’re careful to consume slowly, I personally feel okay about shopping at places like ON from time to time.

Rachel

I agree!! Their leggings have held up much nicer for me than my double the cost viouri ones!

Sasha in MT

I do think they are sustainable for those of us who don’t follow trends, keep clothes for decades and only buy what we really need. I have tons, from thrift, that is decades old. I don’t know how to be more sustainable than that.

Aimee

Agree with Amanda. I still have frustration with them over fit, but once I find something that works I tend to hold on to it for quite a while. ON is great for foundation pieces that pass the test of time if you launder them properly.
