A Handful of French Clothes I’ve Worn a Million Times

I’ve been a big fan of Sézane since I discovered the Paris-based clothing brand back in 2015, when they were just two years old. For the past decade, I’ve loved their everyday staples, like their 100% cotton chore jacket and perfectly fitting jeans.

This morning, looking back through photos, I realized how many times I’ve worn their comfy, timeless pieces on trips, on dates, and around town. I wore this dress to my birthday party, and this silky white blouse was my trusty first-date uniform last year. Everything mix and matches, and their clothes hold up really well (I am not gentle with my clothes!).
Sézane just launched their spring collection, so I thought I’d share a few favorite pieces to wear on repeat, and I’d love to hear which ones you like…

A polka dot dress with lovely (dare I say sexy) ties on the shoulders.

A polka dot skirt which would look beautiful with a white tee or a shirt tied at the waist. Makes me daydream about summer evenings, eating dinner in gardens.

A 100% cotton blouse with 3/4 sleeves to wear all summer. (Rose tattoo optional.)

A linen blouse and skirt that come in both burnt orange and black. I’m really into the shape of the skirt!

Flat sandals for warm-weather adventures.

And raffia basket bags for all your sunscreen, books, and sandwiches (and a laptop, if we must!).
What are you excited to wear as the weather gets warmer? What are your favorites in Sézane’s spring collection? (Also, how pretty are the very thin straps on these shoes?)
P.S. Sézane designer’s Paris apartment tour, and six spring pieces I’ve worn a million times.
(This post is sponsored by Sézane, a brand we have loved and worn for many years. Thank you for supporting the brands that support Cup of Jo.)

134 commentsI love Sezanne- their pieces have a timeless quality that has helped pull me out of a pattern of shopping for the “it” pieces of the moment, again and again. I still delight in them a year or more later.. I do wish they had more cotton sweater options, though!
These clothes are so beautiful and I love the top, in particular. I’m curious if anyone with a large chest has bought any shirts from Sezane? I love the look of button-front shirts but they often look terrible on my body- if I get the size which fits me everywhere else, the buttons gap and pull across the chest, and if I get a bigger size to fit my chest, the entire shirt is very oversized and overwhelms me. I’m 5’3″ with a 36DD chest. Any thoughts on Sezane shirts in general, how they fit?
Hi Taylor, I have faced similar challenges as you. Usually I’ll just buy something bigger so it fits my chest … and then if it’s super oversized everywhere else, I’ll tuck it in or tie the excess in a knot in the front. I have a few pieces from Sezane – and yeah, with button downs it’s the same ol story. Probably the best bit is to get the bigger size to fit your chest and then take the top to a good tailor.
There are a ton of studies talking about how overconsumption is simply not good for your mentally or financially health. (Most folks only wear 30% of the clothing they own!!!) While I get these post financially keep your site going, it might be kind to your readers to understand the implications of only buying 5 or 10 items a year, if that. It will do wonders for their financial health. There are amazing options to give new life to what you already own! In these scary political and financial precarious times, we might want to reset how we consume. Do a clothes swap with friends. Repair your existing cherished pieces. Seamstress and Cobblers are great source to renew items.
Nam, respectfully, no one at this site knows my financial situation or clothing needs at any given time I might be reading this post. Maybe one of the 5 to 10 pieces a year I buy is one of these, which I will click on and buy now, maybe something in this new spring line will inspire me to re-use something I have in a different way, maybe I’ll just look at these pictures and think I’d be too cold in any of them. I’ve seen plenty of posts on here that talk about vintage, thrifted or other options for wardrobe and home, and A LOT of posts that don’t have anything whatsoever to do with purchasing anything. So I do think the team is being mindful of all kinds of things, but my reactions, and what I purchase or don’t, isn’t the fault of or the responsibility of this site or this post.
Nam, I appreciate your comment! Although I do at times still buy something new, I’m making an effort to cut overconsumption and your suggestions here are great! I also think Jo does an excellent job of spreading awareness about important matters, but we can always use the extra reminder and I appreciate it. Thank you. Also, remember what we are modeling for our kids (if we have them)! I watched “Buy Now” with my two kids and we were all disgusted. This isn’t sustainable.
“dare I say sexy” ha ha
Impatiently waiting for them to open a brick and mortar in Chicago!!!
I have some pieces from Sezane that I bought a few years ago and still wear with some regularity (especially my black denim chore jacket), but when I started seeing them pushed by a whole bunch of influencers whose other clothes and vibe were not at all similar to the Sezane aesthetic (I’m thinking of Shea McGee as the prime example), they started to no longer feel special – like they went from a French fashion brand to a cheesy mass market brand. The private equity owner explains a lot.
I have a few Sezane sweaters that I’ve worn a lot. Post request: I would love a guide on thrifting — online, in person, clothes, homegoods. I always feel kind of lost and underwhelmed, but I also try to be a thoughtful consumer and know that buying pre-loved items (especially fashion) is better for our mother earth. Would love some insider tips, good websites (beyond ThredUp), etc.!

Erika Veurink’s Substack, Long Live, is amazing for this!
we have another post with Erika coming up! xoxo
Annie, come over to long live!!! And more on COJ SOON
Yes please! More articles about thrifting, buying second hand, and buying less would be amazing!
Hive question: I bought this lovely spring midi dress of silk georgette fabric online. The skirt is lined but top is not. I need to wear a bra but what else could I wear underneath? The sleeves are loose and the neck hits at collarbone on me. https://www.theoutnet.com/en-us/shop/product/ulla-johnson/dresses/midi-dresses/ruffled-floral-print-silk-georgette-midi-dress/46376663162854119
That dress is beautiful! Maybe just a nude camisole? This one is on sale and not made of synthetics which is always a plus for me: https://bananarepublicfactory.gapfactory.com/browse/product.do?pid=526295011&vid=1&tid=bfpl000035&kwid=1&ap=7&gad#pdp-page-content It’s not a perfect neckline match but I find that nude vs white is pretty subtle in terms of show-through.
Also this one: https://boody.com/products/cami-top-nude?variant=41631732695176
Thank you, Christina! Banana order placed. And COJ Team, thanks for fixing up my wonky URL link to the website.
Just wear nude Nippies! They are incredible, I use them all the time
I bought the chlo shirt based on your recommendation and love it. Thank you! I’d like to buy the jeans but unsure of sizing. Do you think they’re true to size?
I had to size up 2-3x for my Sezane jeans!
Omg Erin, I recently bought a pair of the Brut Sexy in my regular 38 and I couldn’t get them up past my thighs!! I laughed out loud. I think I need to try again and size up like 4 sizes bc the quality and cut looked amazing. Will have to do more research into the fit!
Timely, because I have been wanting to have a conversation about Sézane. On the one hand, yes, I adore their beautiful pieces, they have a wonderful price point and hold up well, and I feel really special in their things. And on the other hand, I feel really disappointed to see their continued partnership with deeply conservative influencers (one in particular) spewing (usually homophobic) vitriol on Instagram whilst wearing their gifted Sézane. The influencer I am specifically referencing has a story highlight on her profile titled “exterminate” where she goes off for several slides on how the “wicked” (generally the Left, but specifically LGBT+) are “exterminating” themselves through “gender reassignment” (her quotations, not mine), “marrying same gender” (again, her words and quotations, not mine), birth control, and abortion, and then goes on to praise this extermination as God’s plan. I actually reached out to Sézane directly with screenshots in September 2024 when I saw these posts and they did not respond (and though I unfollowed this account, they continue to partner with her), and I have not purchased from them since. I realize in the end they are fast fashion, but I think we can and should expect more ~ as humans, and as allies of marginalized humans ~ in 2025. I just…wish Sézane cared, you know?
I think Sezane looks pretty on a model, but the rare times I’ve tried pieces on (once at the NYC store, or at consignment shops), I couldn’t find an item that fit or seemed well made. Sweaters were scratchy, blouses seemed ready to apart, and sizing ran extremely small. I was disappointed, then, to read articles about Sezane’s appropriation of native designs (see Elizabeth Holmes’ journalism), fast fashion production, and poor customer service. I want to them, but the issues are aplenty.
Joanna can you share how your chore coat fits? The website says oversized. Did you size down? What size are you wearing? Thanks for your help. I would like to order the Ecru one for spring.
good q! I order true to size and it’s oversized in the way a trench would be — like, the shoulders fit, but the length is long and roomy. it fits really nicely! you can also exchange it, too, if you need to (I know it’s a pain overall, but they make it pretty seamless). xoxo
I really like the styles and shapes of Sézane clothing. I don’t at all mind paying for good quality and find the brand quite affordable. even in Australian dollars.
I absolutely love Sezane and have purchased several of their items. HOWEVER, I have a BIG issue with the product pictures. All the pictures are very artsy and dreamy, but there are so many items you can’t see the whole item! Like tops only shown tucked in. Or models posing in awkward positions. I always avoid ordering those items.
I feel the same and do not order for the same reason!
I want to love Sezane but I bought one pair of [extremely expensive] jeans and they ripped in the thighs in less than a year, so I’m not willing to spend that much money to risk something ripping so quickly again.
I find their pieces really lovely but pricey as well! I have been to their Paris and Aix en Provence stores several times and they are always full of american shoppers! haha I always think they must be CoJ readers.
I think the whole “French girl’ thing is actually just American women wanting to be French. My family own an apartment in Paris, and French girls do not dress like French girls if you know what I mean.
Ha yes, agree, don’t think Sezane is popular in France. It’s French style for international shoppers. I love the styling but not convinced on the quality.
Sezane has some beautiful items, and from what I’ve heard the quality a few years ago was very high but unfortunately has taken a huge dip since the company is now 45% owned by the same investor as SHEIN – General Atlantic. Their whole strategy is very fast fashion, low quality, but with Sezane’s reputation and image, they’re able to get higher price points. I am part of a few Sezane FB groups and hesitate to make purchases based on the poor experience with customer service in response to poor quality, damaged items, and even fakes.
I have noticed the same thing in terms of a decline in quality. Way cheaper materials in many of the items and lots of recent reports of quality issues. I will be avoiding going forward.
Very short skirts are not elegant, maybe ok over tights. Too tacky for my taste.
Yvonne, what is this comment in response to? I scrolled up to see if there were any “very short skirts” and didn’t see any. As a petite person, I love short skirts. I don’t find them tacky at all.
Specific pieces I love: Paula Babies – Incredibly comfortable out of the box. They go with everything. Paolo Jacket – It is my absolute go to for drop offs and anything outside in the Fall and Spring. Dot tights – They have held up for two years+. And they feel so luxurious and special. Ross Trouser – I wear these pants once a week. They are appropriate for work but I can also wear them on the weekend with a sweatshirt and sneakers. I had them hemmed because I prefer an ankle length. Farrow Micro Bag – This little bag is so cute. I holds my cell phone, a slim wallet, key fob, and lip gloss comfortably. I have received compliments each time I have used it. Everything here, I would buy again in a heart beat. My only miss with Sezane was the Ciara Trouser. The material was too stiff.
In theory Sezane makes clothes in my size, but the reality is that they’re cut for a more waifish figure than mine. I’ve tried a few things and the proportions never suit my large chest and hips and small waist. They’re pretty, but not for me. Anthropologie often has similar pieces that work better for my body.
Will this be your first summer with Freddie? How romantic! Lots of long skirts and al fresco rosé in your future!
yes!!! :) :) :)
Omg this is so cute to think about
I’d love to buy Sezane second-hand online, but some of the listings seem like dupes instead of the real deal. Any advice to share on spotting real vs. fake pieces?
I continue to find Sezane elusive. I have one shirt from them–influenced by this site!–that I wear regularly (Bianca blouse–made possible by the Numi undershirt!–so many compliments), but everything else I have tried just cannot justify the price. Even on a recent trip to Paris I went out of my way to visit their largest store and was so underwhelmed by the product–no lined pants?! and the sweaters seem so overpriced. What are folks’ tried and true Sezane recs?
This!! I also find it elusive, the quality seems all over the place – basically the same as Zara and H&M, where it’s mostly not great but some is okay, and sometimes you find a unicorn that unexpectedly lasts forever (looking at your, black roll sleeve t-shirts from H&M that I’ve had for literally twelve years!). For the amount that Sézane costs, I’d rather support something better quality and more local
I have two jackets…. The Paulin Coat and the Will Jacket both bought on the Sezane site at reduced prices. I think the quality is good and the design is something a little different. I’ve worn them both for two seasons and they still look good.
The Louise jumper is my absolute favorite. Unfortunately, it doesn’t come in as many colors as some of their other sweaters. I have it in grey and have worn it so many times over the last two winters. It can be dressed up or down and is very soft. And the little pearls on the wrist add something special to it. It’s true to size, whereas some of their other sweaters I feel run just a tad small.
I have one piece (the Chlo shirt) that I do love. However, if you look at Substack/Reddit – definitely a lot of criticisms of Sezanne’s declining quality to price ratio for sure. https://substack.com/home/post/p-158698850
I have several pants, a sweater, shirts, and a wool coat from Sezane. The quality is substantially better than H&M and Zara. The wool sweater looks in perfect condition still after 4 years of wearing regularly. My mother worked 50 years as a professional pattern maker and agrees the cuts are excellent. I agree I ordered some stuff that was disappointing and I returned, but overall I am very pleased.
I have the Sezane Betty cardigan in several different colors and love them. That style does run a bit cropped, FYI. I have also had success finding it thrifted on Poshmark, etc.
The double breasted trench (Scott?) is actually great quality. Nicely lined, a good weight and wears like iron. I have a Burberry trench that i not as well made. The Will chore jacket- i own it in 5 colors/ fabrics. Well made and goes over everything. The T shirt dresses- side tie and the tank with buttons down the front. I have a few 100% silk pieces- skirts, button down blouses, dresses that are beautiful in unique silhouettes. A lot of their tops are not worth the money. Thin fabric, poor stitching . Mostly the sizing is inconsistent. Follow their guidelines for what to order up or down. I really wish they Llowed onsite reviews.
I love Sezane and have a few of their sweaters. I would love to know where your black flats are from? They look so soft!
Hi Gretchen! They are Jamie Haller.
I just snagged a beautiful blue gauzy cotton skirt at a clothing swap (all the adjectives! Vintage and free!) that I can’t wait to wear out with a white linen top and tan leather flats! Not really any brands to speak of, although I love Eileen Fisher linen anything…
I love the style of sezane and have splashed out on the black denim will jacket. But they have doubled in price (if not more) in the last few years and with shipping all the way to NZ it’s just to risky in case the fits wrong
I have long admired Sezane from afar, I don’t really like to buy clothes online if I can help it, so I waited to buy a dusty rosepink cardigan from them until I was in NYC this past summer. It is divine and I tucked it away in my sweater closet until this winter when I started pulling it out and wearing it right before/during my wedding festivities – so now it is tied to that time period! I wore it a bunch while on our honeymoon and dining out at fancy restaurants – it feels so lux but also wearable for every day. My mom is a knitter, so this might be the first sweater I’ve bought in years but my rational was it was okay because she doesn’t do cardigans or typically knit using lace patterns- I got her stamp of approval during my wedding weekend, she said it was very well made for being store bought/machine knit!
All of my Sézane clothes and shoes are high quality, wear really well, and always get compliments. I appreciate that they’re a B Corp too.
Thank you for sharing the B Corp info! I’ve been on the fence about splurging on a couple things and this helped me make my decision!
I’m not for or against B Corp rating, but I did find this interesting when I was looking into it recently after finding out Dr. Bronner’s dropped their certification. https://www.bbc.com/worklife/article/20240202-has-b-corp-certification-turned-into-corporate-greenwashing
Thanks so much for this, @Diana Moss! I’ve clearly been putting too much stock in this certification. I really appreciate the information.
Also I was curious about your reference to Dr Bronner’s (a brand I love) so looked that up, too—and thought I’d link here in case anyone is interested: https://info.drbronner.com/all-one-blog/2025/02/dr-bronners-statement-on-dropping-b-corp-certification/
Thank you very much all for sharing this info from Dr Bronner’s and the BBC article. I can’t believe they certified Nespresso! There isn’t much point in a certification if it isn’t meaningful.
I have the black and white polka dot button up dress on its way and the same lace shirt is in my cart! 🥰
fast fashion so its a hard no for me!
What makes it fast fashion? Truly curious especially as it’s a B Corp.
Agree!
Nora, its mass-produced.
agreed! b corp means little nowadays. I buy their older pieces secondhand but would never buy from their site. Overpriced nd cheap quality now unfortunately.
just want to point out that while Sezane is a B Corp, they are JUST BARELY qualified: https://www.bcorporation.net/en-us/find-a-b-corp/company/szane/ Every org gets a score from B Corp- a score of 80 qualifies for certification. Sezane has a sore of 82.6.
To follow up- by comparison, Athleta has a 91.9 Overall B Impact Score
I wear my Sezane pieces more than anything in my closet—other than this one Doen dress—I think perhaps because they’re so effortlessly glamorous, but also comfy, and also fit perfectly, and are also feminine without being childlike? They also have such gorgeous colors!
I love their style but unfortunately, their clothes don’t fit my body.
Same. I’ve tried a few things and have always sent back. I want to love their clothes though. I do have a couple pairs of shoes I’ve kept and love.
I’m a straight sized lady, but I’ve come to the decision that I will not buy from brands with limited sizing and ZERO DIVERSITY in models. It’s a glaring turn off.
I agree. I’m 5’8” and 140 pounds, so I’m not at all overweight, but I find it incredibly off-putting when brands feature only very skinny models. Interestingly, I also longed for some Sezane clothes for a long time (usually they’re over my budget) and I finally ordered several things over the holidays, and I send them all back because I didn’t like the way they fit at all! A couple of striped tops, a long-sleeved blouse—all very stiff and boxy.
I so appreciate this as a plus size person. I’m in a small fat body; I have a 47.5 in chest, which usually puts me at a size 2X. Like many brands, Sezane’s sizing chart looks much more size inclusive than it actually is. It’s incredibly (and irresponsibly) misleading–I couldn’t fit into their 4XL.
Love it.
+1 to this!
There’s been such a turning away from more inclusive sizing that is really disheartening. Numbers differ, but still more women are over size 14 than are not and STILL clothing companies either don’t make larger sizes or they have like 44 pieces and have over 300 pieces for ‘straight size’ (Madewell, checked their site today). It is absurd that this keeps happening.
agree!! and this brand looks to be SO expensive!!
As a plus size person, thanks for the solidarity!
agreed! who are the decision makers that think we only want to see super-slender white women? No thank you. I’m a white woman who’s rounded from size 4 to size 10 after college and kids – it’s such a turn off when a clothing company doesn’t choose to be realistic in their images. Frankly I assume it’s because they know their product won’t flatter those body types so they avoid it. Lame.
This is so heartening to read as a plus size person! I’ve long wanted to buy from Sezane but the lack of size inclusivity is a bummer. I’d love to see CoJ post more from brands that are slow fashion AND size inclusive. Though it’s a miniscule issue compared to so many other pressing issues right now, my heart sinks a little bit every time I see a post like this and I know it’s totally inaccessible to me, and as another commenter pointed out, the majority of women in this country.
@Mary, I LOVE your language of ‘rounding.’ The older I get the more the idea of capaciousness as a woman enthralls me, and the rounding, stretching, softening of my body, opinions, experiences is pointing me in the way I’d like to keep growing. I feel, at 41, that this was more common in my grandmothers’ time than my mother’s or mine, but I’m taking my stand!
A great slow fashion brand with inclusive sizing is Harly Jae – https://harlyjae.com/ They are a small Canadian brand. They do a lot of pre orders, so they don’t over produce. Their Instagram is great because they do a bunch videos and walk through of the clothing. I especially love the Wyn and Pierrot pants and the House Blouse. I have several pieces and they fit so nice. Laila and Christy will help you find the right fit.
I have loved the look of a lot of their clothes and was so excited to visit their store in-person a few months ago. Unfortunately, I left really disappointed. Everything I looked at in the store felt like the quality was not there for the price. The sweaters were itchy, the stitching didn’t look any better than things I’ve seen at Zara, etc. I have not investigated Sezane, but my gut is that it’s another wolf in sheep clothing in terms of fast fashion that is trying to pretend it’s not.
Love Sezane! I have the trench coat in black and it’s gorgeous. Need to look at spring tops.
I LOVE sezane, and by a lot of it in nearly new condition on secondhand sites. But just last month, I splurged and bought these shoes directly from their site and they literally just arrived. I can’t wait to wear them all spring/summer! https://www.sezane.com/us/product/paula-babies/denim-blue-varnish#size-4
those are so cute!!! have fun wearing those “babies”!
I love sezane. Everything I have purchased has been wonderful – shoes, sweaters, cardigans, pants, and tights. I do want to try the cropped jeans… But I am on the fence – le crop is more my style. But the brut sexy look sex – I just wonder if they are too skinny. I know skinny is making a come back but I don’t love skinny.
Is skinny really making a comeback?! I almost threw mine in the Goodwill pile yesterday but my 17-year old said to keep them to wear with boots or for painting projects. 😂
they’re pretty skinny, but not tight at the bottom — I’d say between straight and skinny, if that makes sense.
A silver lining of living in Idaho is that skinny hasn’t bothered to go out of style. Nothing has ever gone out of style as far as I can tell.
Science has gone out of style in Idaho. If only it was mullets instead!
Thanks, Joanna!
Can I ask about short skirts and dresses? I’m a slightly taller than average person, every short skirt or short dress is inappropriate for me to wear, I’d flash my whole behind if I had to bend over. Are you wearing something under there besides your undies??? I end up wearing leggings or bike shorts but they’re not particularly cute or romantic.
I’m 5’3 and I’ve still found their short dresses to be SHORT! Especially the non-fitted t-shirt style- I definitely need to wear bike shorts underneath to avoid a wardrobe malfunction. Hope this helps!
curious to hear from others!
I’ve loved/tried a few of their mini dresses at 5’10” but they are often SHORT – under 34″. I’d say to anyone looking keep an eye on the descriptions for the length since they don’t usually put the length in the measurements. (Two clicks past the size charts, so I appreciate having the info up front in the descriptions, even if it’s not where I go to look for that info by default). My favourite sweater dress is from Sezane but I almost always either layer it over a shirt dress/leggings or know that I am going for a tights-and-boots-Look for date night and will have to be a bit careful.
I live in a very windy city and CANNOT wear a dress without something on underneath. I sometimes wear thigh savers because they are short and don’t have any zippers or pockets, unlike my gym shorts. However, I find anything that tight a little uncomfortable. I would love to hear another solution if one exists!
jockey skimmies, spanx power shorties, cute silk boxers, thigh society – lots of good options out there now for more coverage (bonus – many prevent chafing!) – and I like them in a fun color like hot pink or red for a little surprise if someone gets a peek. I didn’t know until last year that “we” were wearing shorts under dresses and it has opened up a world of possibilities for things I’ll try on now!
Katie, have you ever tried a vintage half or full slip? I love them, and at least in my area, you can still find them easily, for under $10 (CAD). You’d want the ones designed in the 1960s when the styles were shorter, but I swear they’re worth tracking down! They’re a bit more costumey, but those companies made bloomers around that time, too, and I happen to be a huge fan. I hope you find your perfect solution. I’m only 4’10”, and even I’ve noticed how short hemlines can be these days.
I like yoga shorts, because then I have pockets :) For more romance, look into silk tap pants!
If I could buy all my clothes from Sezane I would! Just so classic yet fresh.
I was wondering what are people’s recommendations for t-shirts, I guess in an elevated basics kind of way. Not too boxy, not synthetics that will wash poorly. Nice structure or drape, not clingy?
Uniqlo – The crew neck t-shirt is the best just size up for the perfect fit. It is cotton. Weighty enough that is elevated but not too heavy that it isn’t comfortable. I have three in white. Buck mason also makes a great basic for women. Less structured than the uniqlo tee though and more expensive. Both are good options.
I really like JCrew Linen T-shirts, unexpectedly wonderful surprise for me- the first one I purchased was on sale online at a ridiculously cheap price- loved it.
I really love the le bon shoppe ones xo
Old navy everywhere crop T-shirt. They’re a cult favorite and now I see why
I agree with Uniqlo and I also love COS and Leset Margo tee (this one is shorter and boxier)
Highly recommend this tees from Leset: https://leset.com/products/the-margo-white I own it in several colors. The fit is very flattering, 100% cotton, made in the US.
Fair Indigo makes colorful basic tees from 100% organic Pima cotton that hold their shape really well. I picked up a couple last summer, and they’re already among my favorite summer tops.
Mandy is the Uniqlo t short in the waist? I have a slightly longer waist and while I like the style of other tops I’ve ordered there they all seem a little short-waisted so I’ve hesitated on the tees.
I like Primary’s adult women’s fit t-shirts. True to size, not too boxy or cropped, and the sleeves are the perfect length. Also, sooooo many colors!
Jungmaven’s cropped Ojai in white is my fav t-shirt. Simple, cool, soft but not shlumpy, washes well.
I love Everlane’s pima cotton t-shirts. A lot of their styles are too boxy and odd for me, but they do a crewneck and a scoopneck tee in a micro rib that’s nice quality, the sleeves are a bit longish which I love, and they have a fun sort of chic back seam.
Seconding jungmaven ojais— I have ones I bought in 2020 that I wear all the time (like weekly!) and they look great. I don’t do cropped because I’m tall/long torso, but I’m sure those are just as good!
Cos Clean Cut Regular T-shirt is organic cotton and has a lovely drape and more substantial feel and look. The slightly longer short sleeves helps it look a little dressier too
I second the Primary rec for a nice basic tee – yes it’s a kid’s brand but they have some adult sized designs. https://tinyurl.com/27btrskf V-neck or https://tinyurl.com/mwcwdszv crew-neck.
@Kass – I would not say they are overly short but I am also super petite. I have a fairly short torso as well at 5’0 and there is plenty of fabric to tuck into high waisted jeans. I think there would be plenty of fabric for a regular waisted pant too but frankly, I don’t own any regular waisted pants. :) Also, second Jungmaven cropped tees and tanks. But, WARNING, they are not structured t-shirts. They are amazing for a casual boxy look though.
Le Bon Shoppe has the BEST tees
Highly recommend Buck Mason t-shirts. Super comfy and made in PA!
I second the Le Bon Shoppe tees. I also like the Kule tees.
I have to say I splurged on two Sezane pieces last year for a trip and one of them was a Conrad t-shirt that I now find myself wearing A LOT. At only 40$ I feel like I am really getting my money’s worth. I might even get another color! The other was a long knit skirt that has also gotten a lot of wear. I usually try to only buy second hand but this time I went for the fancy Sezane and can say truthfully that I have no regrets.
I like Banana Republic limen tees because they are drapey if you know what I mean. https://bananarepublicfactory.gapfactory.com/browse/product.do?pid=706103061&vid=1&searchText=linen+tee#pdp-page-content
Love Sézane! My entire wedding outfit was Sézane and my wife and I had matching chore jackets embroidered with “marry me” that we wore when it got chillier (outside camping wedding). I love wearing it now for every day occasions!
oh my gosh, that is so wonderful!!
Wedding planner here! I would looove to see a feature on your day – it sounds so beautiful!
It was pretty magical! Would love that.
I was looking at another Max shirt yesterday because I wear them all the time once it warms up. My spring/summer WFH uniform is a button-up shirt with some necklace situation and whatever bottoms I feel like wearing that day. Comfy, professional enough, and feels like me
I just ordered my 5th(!) Max shirt and am waiting for it to arrive. It’s the silk leo print. I found them a bit expensive and wondered about the quality, but the cost per use comes out so low since I reach for them so often and they have held up really well to the heavy use. A great WFH uniform that also works so well for weekend errands etc.
These are all such beautiful clothes and I love your photos. Your velvet dress inspired me to buy a velvet shirt dress that I wore out to a concert recently and I felt so good in it!I often keep an eye out on depop for sezane or Sessun. I decided this year to wear short dresses and skirts (I’ve not done that since year 8 I didn’t think they suited me) and it’s been fun! Love that skirt here very fun and polka dot dress is gorgeous x
I love that, ceridwen!
